Change AI Models

Changing your AI model is a great way to keep your story fresh, new, and to help break out of repetitive patterns. Experiencing other models can also be helpful in finding the one that is right for you and your play style.
You can change the AI model you’re using during gameplay in two different ways.
Via the In-Game Settings
Use the gear icon in the upper right corner of the game screen to access the in-game settings.
Then navigate to Gameplay → AI Models → Story.
Under this accordion, you can pick which AI Model you want to play with.
Use the Version dropdown to select a specific variation of the model, if provided.
Via the Switcher Shortcut
While playing, look to the top right of your screen, near the settings button. You will see an icon depicting your current model. If you click that, a menu will open displaying all of the models available.
From here, you can click to view certain models and the tags associated with them, such as their base model, their max context, and the context your tier gives you.
Then, by clicking the yellow button at the bottom, you will switch to whatever model you have selected!
Model Settings
You can also adjust the Model Settings for the AI you choose, by scrolling down in the full settings menu and opening up the tab called ‘Model Settings’.
Model settings save between uses, and are specific to the model you are currently using. You can set .9 temperature on one model, and .5 temperature on a different model with no issues.
Some models may only have a few of these settings, or none at all.
Model Settings used to be called ‘Advanced Settings’, and were only available to Premium subscribers. Now, they are open to all users!
Note: These settings can be unpredictable and cause a significant change to your story generation. We recommend reading this page which explains all of the possible settings before attempting to tune them.
